Rainy Day Mod

Outfit Details:
Shirt- Gap
Dress- Ross
Tights- Forever21
Shoes- Daddyo's
Umbrella- Sorry, I have no idea
I got this dress yesterday from Ross, and was pleasantly surprised when I found it. I hadn't been in there for a while, and figured I'd flip through the dresses really quick, to see if there was anything cute, and there were actually a ton of super cute mod-style dresses. I got two, this one, and one that's hounds tooth, both for about 14 dollars, which is pretty awesome. Since it's actually been raining out, I borrowed this striped shirt from my mom. Since I was going with a pretty mod outfit, I figured I'd do hair and make up with that too. I did "Twiggy Eyes" with the tutorial on Rookie, and did my hair in a semi-beehive, with a side ponytail, then pinned in some small fake flowers. The second to last picture includes a rare Chloe-with-no-glasses picture, to show the make up. I borrowed my mom's foundation to get a nude lip, but it was faded a little bit by the time I took my pictures. Also: Blue hair. I was missing the blue, so I redid it last night.
I hope you all have super glitterific days!
Love,
Chloe

One Badass Princess.

Outfit Details:
Flower Crown- DIY
Sweater- Anthropology
Dress- Forever 21
Crinoline- Vintage
Socks- Forever 21
Boots- (Knock off) Doc Martins
As my title suggests, I feel like a badass princess today. I've got the flower crown and lacy white dress, but also the bright purple hair, nearly black lipstick, and docs. This was definitely one of those outfits that I get some interesting looks at school for, but it's pretty awesome, so. It was inspired by a Rookie photo shoot, Hometown Heroes, wear the girls were in almost all white, with sheer long skirts, and black boots, hanging out like a fancy skate board gang. They also had flower crowns, so I of course had to get out this one, which I made and wore to graduation last year. It had been needing some mending, so I just reattached a few of the flowers, and added some glitter to complete it. I felt like the outfit was looking just a little too white and bride-like, so I added some super dark lipstick. I didn't have any black lipstick, so I just used some black eyeliner as lip liner, and then did a layer of red on top, so it's sort of a dark dark purpley color.
I hope you all have a glitterific day, with flower crowns and black lipstick!

Chloe

Style Inspiration: Kim Shuttuck

Outfit Details:
Dress- Vintage
Belt- From another dress
Socks- Borrowed from my mom
Shoes- Also borrowed from my mom, but they're Doc Martins
Right now my hair's kind of splotchy. My bangs are violet, the rest is lavender, and my roots are dark brown, regardless of my natural hair color being blond. Personally, I don't really mind, because it's still purple and awesome, but it kind of reminded me of Kim Shuttuck, the lead singer of The Muffs. She's got this really cool hair that's all streaked with brown and blond, and her roots are often coming through, but, you know, she's just cool like that. I was looking at pictures of her online and felt like I kind of needed to dress like her today. I used these three pictures as my main inspiration:
You can kind of see how the dress in the bottom picture, and the shoes in the upper right one were worked into my outfit. Overall, I really like my outfit today, even though I've had "Oh Nina" stuck in my head all day.
I hope you all have glitterific days!
Love,
Chloe

Shirt Dresses with Crinolines

Outfit Details:
Dress- #forever21
Sweater- #forever21
Belt- From another dress
Crinoline- Sam's
Tights- #forever21
Shoes- #modcloth
This is another outfit I wore last week (I think on Tuesday), but I liked it too much to let it get lost in all the files on our computer. Also, I really like how the pictures turned out. This was actually one of my first really vintage-inspired dresses. I remember when I wore this dress for Valentine's Day, back in 7th grade, and how I just liked the way the skirt was swishing around my legs, and how, even though it wasn't nearly as interesting as my outfits would come to be, when people gave me strange looks, I just didn't care, because it was a rad dress. I think that's kind of what led to all my of vintage dresses. Maybe not this dress specifically, but it was a little bit of a gateway drug.
I hope you all have glitterific days, with lots of gateway-vintage-drugs (but the good kind),

Chloe

Old French Films

 Outfit Details:
Cape- Vintage
Shirt- #forever21
Lady Tie- DIY
Dress- #forever21
Crinoline- Sam's
Socks- Payless
Shoes- (knock off) Doc Martins
Beret- Vintage
Sorry I haven't posted for a while, but this is what I wore last week when it was pretty and rainy out. I had to wear mostly black for the play, so that we would be less conspicuous when running  around back stage. The black and white of the outfit, mixed with the rainy gloominess kind of looked like some cool old black and white film set in France to me. Plus, I just really like this cape, which I always try and borrow from my mom whenever it gets nice and chilly out.
I hope you all have a glitterific day!

Minty Foxes

Outfit Details:
Blouse- #forever21
Dress- #forever21
Tutu- #forever21
Tights- #h&m
Shoes- (knock-off) Doc Martins
I wore this outfit on Wednesday, and planned to post it on Thursday, but that was the opening night of the play, and I haven't gotten a chance to do any posts with that going on. I did take some pictures of my outfit yesterday, too, so I'll try and post those later today or tomorrow. I love the print on this dress, but it's pretty low cut, so I usually wear it over some sort of blouse, like my polka-dot, mint blouse. I also pinned a black bow on the collar, and I liked how it looked.
I hope you all have glitterific days!

Chloe

Hand Warmers and Peterpan Collars

Outfit Details:
Hat- #forever21
Dress- Vintage
Sweater- Old Navy
Belt- From another dress
Arm Warmers- A local craft fair-type of thing
Tights- #forever21
Shoes- (knock off) Doc Martins
I'm so happy it's been getting chilly out, even if it does get a lot warmer during the day. Luckily, on Friday, we went to a local craft fair, and I bought these aqua arm/hand warmers, so I've been wearing them, along with fuzzy socks all weekend, because my hands and feet have been freezing. I don't mind, though, because this is always my favorite type of weather! I like how the aqua looks with the blueish on my dress, which I bought in a thrift store in San Fransisco, and I love the collar on it, and the 60's kind of silhouette. The last few days, I've been doing teal-blue eyeshadow, inspired by Suzy, from Moonrise Kingdom, so I put a picture above, but you can't really see it very well.
I hope you're all having glitterifically cozy days!
Love,
Chloe
