Flowers in My Hair and On My Dress

Outfit Details:
Dress- #forever21
Belt- From another dress
Socks- #forever21
Boots- Doc Martins (legitimate ones)
I actually really love my outfit today. And my hair. And my makeup. I think this is one of my favorite dresses, because it's got that nice kind of sixties style to it, and it's a really good summer dress. It's a good length because I can wear it with tights or leggings when it's chilly out, but it's not way way too short to wear on it's own. It's also got kind of a cool back that's really good for hot days. I also love the cotton candy-like colors on it, which look awesome with pretty much any hair color I've done, and go perfectly with my pink docs. My hair was nice because it looks kind of complicated, but I did it in less than ten minutes. Maybe, like, five. I just did two quick french braids on either side, then pinned one over the other, and the other along my neck. Then, I took a bunch of fake flowers that I'd removed from their branch/stem things, and bobby pinned them into my braids. I think it ended up looking super pretty, and I got lots of complements on them today.
I also think this is my favorite makeup I've done. I used a lighter blue eyeshadow than I usually use, so it was almost a shimmery powder blue, and this is probably one of the best cat-eye's I've done for my eyeliner. Usually, you know, they always uneven, or they get smudged, or there's a weird thickness or something, but these are actually almost perfect. Also, my lipstick stayed really nice all day. Usually, it will smudge at the corners, or get all faded in the middle, but today it stayed nice with just a supper small touch up after lunch.
Also working out perfectly today, were my jumping shots. Usually, I'll have to take, like, easily a hundred pictures before I'll get maybe five shots of me actually in the air. Today, I was in the air for all but a few of them. In all of them I had kind of awkward expressions on my face, but at least I was in mid-jump.
Tonight, we're all going over to Muddy Waters for a show, with Dante Elephante playing, so that should be awesome. It's at 8, so if anyone in town wants to go, I linked to the Facebook page.
I hope you're all having an immensely glitterific day!
Love,
Chloe

Pigtails and Yarn

Outfit Details:
Dress- Vintage
Jacket- #forever21
Belt- #forever21
Tights- #forever21
Socks- #ModCloth
Shoes- (knock off) Doc Martins
I really like my outfit today. I've been wanting to wear it for a while, and have had it all mentally picked out, but kept forgetting about it. Then, last night I decided that today would be the day, and it would finally become a reality. Then, of course, I over-slept until about fifteen minutes before I needed to leave. But, I was too excited to wear this outfit to just throw on some shorts and a sweater or one of the other outfits that act as my sweat-pants equivalents. I basically said "Screw you, Time!" in my head, and decided to put this all together in the allotted time. I did have to put on my lipstick and tie in the yarn for my pigtails after P.E. (second period) and go without eyeliner, but I'm pretty proud of my handiwork. I saw this picture (below) of Brigitte Bardot the other day on Maryasha(of Misery Chic)'s Pinterst page, and I think it subconsciously made me need to wear pigtails with red yard. I kind of forgot about the picture until I got home. I teased up my hair in the back, but you can't really see it in the pictures.
I wish you all a glitterific day!
Love,
Chloe

The Pencil Bun

Outfit Details:
Jacket- My dad's (Vintage?)
Cardigan- Old Navy
Dress- Forever 21 (years ago)
Belt- Forever21
Tights- Target
Shoes- (knock off) Doc Martins
Today I feel Wes Anderson-y. I know it probably doesn't really look like a Wes Anderson-inspired outfit or anything, and it's not. However, there are certain details that just remind me of characters in his movies. The jacket, which is my dad's from when he was younger, reminds me of Sam's in Moonrise Kingdom, even if this one's much more military than scout-like. But, you know, it's got some patches and things, and it does have a similar color. I also kind of felt like Lindsay from Freaks and Geeks.
For about the past month I've been going off and on with super heavy black eyeliner, just because I feel like Margot Tenenbaum every time I put it on. She's just such an awesome character, and it's become one of my many clothing-related dreams to own an Izod dress and a mink coat so that I can walk around and pretend that I'm a Tenenbaum.
The pencils that I was sticking in my bun all day just reminded me of Etheline Tenenbaum. They were the reason for the post title, but mostly because I couldn't think of a better name.
Well, I hope you're all having a glitterific day!
Love,
Chloe
P.S. I have ideas running through my head for what should be an awesome Valentine's themed photo shoot some time in the next few weeks! Hopefully I'll be able to set that all up before the 14th so that I can share it with you all!

Spots and Bow Ties

Outfit Details:
Sweater- Forever 21
Blouse- h&m (men's)
Bow Tie- Not sure, some costume shop downtown
Skirt- Forever 21
Tights- Asos
Shoes- (knock-off) Doc Martins
This was just an awesome outfit day for me. Any time I can wear a bow tie is automatically gonna be amazing, but today there were polka dots thrown in there, too. I got a men's shirt from h&m a while ago, and I like it. I haven't been able to find any women's shirts that aren't weirdly fitted, and have weird floppy collars that you can't wear ties with. It's stupid. But, this one actually fits pretty well, even if I can't button it all the way down, due to the whole "girl" thing.
I hope you're all having glitterific days!

Chloe

Hey, Kitten!

Outfit Details:
Sweater- Forever21
Crinoline- Sam's
Tights- Forever21
Shoes- Daddy-o's
Hat- #h&m
I don't know why, but this is kind of one of my favorite outfits that I've ever worn, and one of my favorite photo-sets that I've done. Maybe it's because I was shooting it during a short break in the pouring rain that's been falling all day, which always puts me in a good mood, but also just the awesomeness of this outfit. You have to admit, it's pretty epic. Yesterday, after school, I just kind of decided that I wanked to be a cat. Maybe not forever, but at least for a day. So, this outfit happened, complete with whiskers and a cat-ear hat. I also have my cat shoes, sweater, leopard-print tights, and cat-eye glasses and eyeliner. It's pretty cat-tastic. I also wore my long pink extensions, because I realized that my hair is actually pretty close in color to them, at least in my bangs.
I'm just in a good mood today. You know those days when everything just seems awesome? Like my friends were all letting me draw on their arms all day, and we've decided that we're all going to Winter Formal together, wearing what are sure to be amazing thrift store 80's dresses, and possibly borrowing some of the rad dresses from the costume room at school (which I am happily working in again for the spring musical). Also, when I came home, I went on Noise Trade, and found a bunch of new music, including a free album from Said the Whale, which I'm totally digging.
Another awesome thing about today is that tonight on the Colbert Report, the guest is none other than *the* Tavi Gevinson! It's on at 11:30, so I recorded it in my parents' room, but I think on the HD channel it's on in like 10 minutes, at 8:30, so I need to hurry up so I can watch it! It was super amazing when she was on Jimmy Fallon, and was teaching him about Bitch Facing. It was possibly my favorite thing of all time.
I hope you're all having as wonderfully glitterific days as I am!
Love,
Chloe

Going to the Playground

Outfit Details:
Dress- Vintage
Tie- ...just a ribbon...
Belt- #forever21
Hat- #forever21
Socks- #forever21
Shoes- Shoebuy
Just wanted to clear up, "...just s ribbon..." is meant literally. It's not a brand name, however awesome that would be. Apparently there is a website called justribbons.com, but this was just a ribbon I found in my room.
Today my friend Olivia and I went to a playground near her house. Her birthday was this week, so we decided to celebrate it the way all teenagers spend their day's off from school; going to a park and playing on some teeter-taters. Wow. That is a weirdly spelled word. I don't know, I guess it's just a weird word in general. *Teeter-tater*. It sounds like some some of leaning potato. Leaning Potato would make a cool band name. Sorry, I'm off topic now. That happens to me a lot.
I rode my bike, and she her scooter, and we spent the day going back and forth between swings and the teeter-tater. It was a wondrous day, spent in this lovely vintage dress, which I got for 3 dollars at Yellowstone, the vintage store downtown. Usually, their stuffs pretty pricey, but I guess they're doing something like moving it all online, so they had a huge sale, with a bunch of 3 dollar bins.
I felt like the dress needed some sort of tie. I looked for my home-made lady tie, but couldn't find it, so I just grabbed a ribbon and looped it under the collar, and tied it under my chin. It also seemed kind of necessary to wear knee socks and saddle shoes when going to a playground. Unfortunately, my saddle shoes are kind of on the brink of death. The soles are completely falling out, and I have to constantly flip one part back in place when I'm walking. They've only lasted maybe 5 months, but I think they were meant more for costume-wear, so with my wearing them so often, I think they've done pretty well.
The flower on my arm was just because I was sitting next to my bag of gel pens and sharpies, and that's just what should be expected to result when that happens. By the way, I'm going to Disneyland tomorrow, so that should be *awesome!* I'll try and take some pictures to post later.
I hope you're all having glitterific days!
Love,
Chloe
P.S. The code thing at the top was to hopefully have my blog up on Bloglovin. If it works, you'll be able to follow me through that.
