Chloe Stardust-Love

On Monday my outfit was mostly made up of "why not"s, including a green vintage dress with leopard-print tights, red tie-dye socks and high-tops, with my dad's old acid-green vest. It's actually been semi-wintry lately so I've been wearing a big sweater everyday but since I wanted to wear the vest instead I just wore knit leg warmers on my arms. I also put my hair in buns with satin bows and did my makeup like David Bowie because it's the best way to do your makeup.
With my hair bleached out and most often unwashed, I've been feeling kind of Courtney Love, so I've been wearing tons of black eyeliner with vintage nightgowns and dresses. On Wednesday I pinned my feminist rosette and the second half of "World Peace Is None of Your Business" (as I tragically lost the "World Peace" pin) on my nighty which is mostly held together in the back with rows and rows of safety pins.
Have a lovely day!

Bedsheet Skirts: Reprised

So (as always) I haven't posted in months but I was wearing a curtain today so what better time to? Lately I've been wearing a few different outfits reminiscent of those I wore freshman year and this one felt like a reprise of many of them (all white with black lipstick, floor-length flow-y skirt and tall shoes, the bleached out hair, etc.) but the fact that I was wearing a curtain was especially similar to the time I wore a bed sheet.
A lot of the time it seems like everything's changing and I feel like that's what High School's for, but sometimes it's nice to revisit things and go back to the past.
I hope you have a "glitterific" day.

Chloe

Orange Hair, Green Hair, Moz and E

So my hair was very briefly orange before I let my friends attack my hair again with bleach and turned it white again. I also then made the likely poor decision to hand a pair of scissors each to two of my friends and let them cut my hair. They each stood on one side and ended up forgetting to check the other side at any point, and then it was mostly all the length of my bangs. It's sort of terribly uneven but I've just kind of left it for the past three months (except for changing the color to hot pink/purple to green then lavender and now black) and just started cutting my bangs again a couple weeks ago.
In May I got to go see Morrissey (who is my favorite human) in concert with a bunch of my friends and it was incredibly wonderful. When we were going in, a photographer from LA Weekly took a picture of us and it's in a slideshow of the show.
Then, my parents took my friend Sophie and I down a week or two ago to see the EELS and the same guy took our picture again, and it is once more in a slideshow.
So, now we are just about up-to-date on my hair and outfits since November or so.
I hope you've had a lovely year and that it stays lovely.

Pretty in Pink Dress

Dress: Vintage
This dress just reminds me of something Molly Ringwald would wear in Pretty in Pink, just with a cool hat and floral socks or something. Oh, if only I had a Duckie to go with it.
Have a lovely day!

The Cramps

I found a Cramps t-shirt at the Rose Bowl flea market in LA and found these steel-toe boots at a show room thing that I went to with my mom and godmother. When we were pulling off of the freeway to go to the showroom, I pointed out the lunging hipster on the street corner, and then we saw him outside the entrance when we were going in so my friend and I asked him if we could lunge with him and we took pictures limbering up together.
We also visited Mary-Kate and Ashley's star...
But anyway, I really like my Cramps t-shirt and have found in the past (through bleaching my hair way more than advised) that playing either the Cramps or the Sex Pistols really loudly in my room and jumping around shouting the lyrics is a good way to distract yourself from burning pain on your scalp.
I hope you have a lovely day!

Lorna Doom Inspired Hair

So for a while it seemed like my friends and I were having viewings of "What We Do Is Secret" almost every weekend, and have all written "Here lies Darby Crash" and "My life, my leather, my love goes to Bosco" on hundreds of places around school (desks, walls, theaters) because of the Germs. In January my mom cut my hair like Lorna Doom for me, because Lorna is the coolest, and bleached it out like hers (which was quite painful to get it as close to white as I did). I also went around in ripped up tights and knee socks or my black Dickies and button-ups for a while and my bass is named "Andy Doom" for Andy Rourke and Lorna Doom.
But seriously, go watch the movie because it's really good and go look at pictures of Lorna Doom because she wears really cool clothes.
Have a lovely day!

Spiked

So in December or January I had my mom cut my hair a little bit so that I'd be able to put it up with Knox from time-to-time, and have since done so a few times. It's fun and I really like doing it but it's just annoying because I always touch my head all day and it feels weird.
I hope you have a lovely day!

Hipster Pictures in the Park

My friends and I always go to play on this one playground (usually late at night because it's way better in the dark), and one day we went during the day and took cliche hipster pictures with flowers and things so here are some of them:

Green Hair Again

Shirt: Modcloth, Pin: Vintage
I was really excited this day because my dad's old Sinatra pin matched with the bow on my blouse so it was automatically an awesome day. Plus, I'm fairly certain that this was the day of our theater's fall show so I got to sit in the costume room all day instead of going to class and after school my friends and I watched episodes of Firefly on a laptop for a few hours and hung out and it was really fun.
Have a lovely day!

Little Kid Clothes

So I basically just found my old elephant-print nighty and this sick white hat from my childhood and wore them around for a while. The hat was awesome to put pins on and the nightgown was just awesome in general. I like wearing things meant for children because they're always just better and it always seems very Captain Sensible, especially when paired with jumbles of children's bracelets and things, or some hot pink furry pants.
I hope you have a lovely day!

X

On this day I had put tons of hairspray and various things in my hair so that it stuck out a lot and it was kind of great and my dad told me that I loved like Exene and it was a wonderful complement, especially because about a month later my parents took my friend and I to see X in concert in Ventura which was awesome.
