Toxic Cats

On this day I wore a striped t-shirt under a black dress printed with a cat face, along with a neon green belt, skull-print stockings, and a vintage army jacket. My lipstick was home-made from crayons, using this recipe on Rookie. I combined half of a regular green crayon and half of a lighter yellow-green one and I love how the color turned out.
I hope you have a wonderful day.
Love,
Chloe

Rainbows On Acid

Skipping over multiple hair colors and every outfit I've worn for the past month, this is what I wore today. I've been busy every weekend with various theater productions, and haven't been very good about posting. I plan to post my stored up pictures this weekend, but I just really wanted to go through the ones that I just took. I redyed my hair a few days ago, bleaching it for the first time since April or May, and now it's bright neon green. It has streaks of orange, pink, and teal, and I like to describe it as an "Acid Trip Rainbow."
I wore my apple dress again, once more with safety pins in the collar, although this time they're placed differently, and ripped tights. I doodled anarchy symbols on the tights in green sharpie, and it left cool markings all over my legs when I changed. I have also been wearing this belt a lot lately, as it perfectly matches my hair. It's a neon green, translucent and glittery plastic belt. It's my favorite.
I hope you have a very metal day,
Love,
Chloe

Slightly Singed Crowns

At least a dozen people on Friday asked me if it was my birthday. This happens petty much every time I wear a crown to school, even when they're burned and partially melted. I kept beginning to ask who wears melted crowns on their birthday before I'd remember that I had actually melted this crown specifically to wear on my birthday this summer (I had a zombie-themed party).
Along with my crown, I wore a turquoise dress, a leather jacket with my feminism pin, fishnets, and my docs.

Punk Rock Dinosaur

When I wore this outfit, a very large number of people commented that I looked like a dinosaur. Personally, I took that as a complement, especially when it was given as "You look like a punk rock dinosaur," which it sometimes was.
I achieved the look by crafting a mohawk of buns in my hair, teasing my bangs and the few strands that were left, and using a ton of hairspray. I wore a self-painted and cut up shirt to which I added a few safety pins around the hem, a black lace dress worn as a skirt, striped tights, docs, my pin-covered jacket, and a studded collar that I got at a flea market for a dollar.
Outfit Details:
Shirt: DIY
Skirt: I'm not sure
Jacket: Thrift store (the pins were added)
Tights: Leg Avenue
Shoes: Doc Martens
Collar: Flea Market
I hope you have a good day!

That's So Punk Rock

This outfit started out a week of sort of punk-inspired outfits. On this day, I wore a vintage-style dress with a peter pan collar that I filled with safety pins. I also wore a studded belt, ripped black tights, and my black docs.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Forever 21
Tights: K-mart (self ripped)
Shoes: (knock off) Doc Martens
I hope you have a splendid day!

Spiderwebs

I really loved the lighting in these pictures. It turned out really cool and so that was awesome. I wore another hand-me-down dress under a striped button-down with these really amazing purple glitter spiderweb tights that I got at Micheals and cut into stockings. They matched the spiderweb ribbon that I tied into a bow and pinned in my hair.

Dress: I'm not sure
Shirt: Forever 21
Tights: Micheals
Shoes: Betsey Johnson
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Style Inspiration: Abby Normal

This outfit was inspired by Abby Normal, of the book "Bite Me: A Love Story," by Christopher Moore. The book is the third in his series "Bloodsucking Fiends," of which I read the first two only recently. Abby Normal is one of the best characters ever, though. She's super bad ass and fights vampires while wearing fabulous outfits and tells people "You rock my stripy socks," and also is my spirit animal.
'Kayso, if you haven't read the series before, it's about Jody, who becomes a vampire in the first book, and C. Thomas Flood whom she meets then and turns into a vampire in the second. In that book, they meet Abby, who they hire to assist them in buying apartments and things since they can't go out during the day. The last book, which I read first, is mainly from her point of view, as San Fransisco (the setting of the series) is being taken over by vampire cats.
There are all of these awesome characters though, like Jared, her best friend who was with her when she met Flood and Jody while buying allergenic eyeliner at the drug store. He borrows her thigh-high red boots and then argues with another character about whether it was Buddah or Morrissey who first said "Life is pain." So basically, he's amazing.
Among her described outfits are green plastic skirts, bright pink fishnets and combat boots, a red wedding dress (that, when worn with combat boots, is very difficult to run in), and multiple colors of hair that include lavender pigtails, and magenta with violet tips.
For my outfit, I wore a bright blue tank top, a pink plaid skirt, purple striped tights, and pink docs. I also wore a leather jacket, because one of their weapons to fight the vampire cats are leather jackets that have really bright lights embedded into them (hence the enhanced light in my pictures). I also wore lavender lipstick because one of her friends in the book does.

Skirt, Shirt, and Jacket: Forever 21
Tights: Micheals
Shoes: Doc Martens
I hope you have a très cool day!

Style Inspiration: Gothic Lolita

This outfit was inspired by the style of Gothic Lolita. I read this how-to a while ago, and basically went off of what I remembered. It's not exact, but I tried to incorporate some of the elements. I think it's a really cool style, partially just because it reminds me of Edward Gorey illustrations, which I love.
I wore a teal blouse under a black dress, with white bloomers and a black petticoat. I also wore black stockings which I painted white bats on a while ago, and my lunch-lady shoes. I half pinned up my hair, and tied a black ribbon around it in the back. Half-way through the day, I took off my crinoline because it kept getting in the way, and wore my outfit with just my dress and bloomers, and I liked how that looked, so I have a picture of it like that, too.
Outfit Details:
Dress and blouse: Forever 21
Crinoline: Sam's
Bloomers: Woodfrock on Etsy (They are made to order, so can be made in non-child sizes)
Shoes: Payless
I wish you all a lovely day!

On this day, I wore my "I say nope to dope!" shirt, a hand-me-down strapless dress, a couple of crinolines, striped tights, and my fancy combat boots. I also wore a striped glove (which I could not find the second to), and a pink bow in my hair.
Outfit Details:
Shirt: I'm not sure, but it was my mom's

Glove: Claire's
I hope you have a wonderful day!

New Glasses!

I finally got new glasses after my frames cracked more than three months ago, but I'm really picky when getting new frames, so it took that long to find a pair that I liked. I wore a black bird-printed dress, fishnets, and my fancy combat boots, in which I replaced the laces with various ribbons.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Forever 21
Tights: K-mart
Boots: Betsey Johnson
I hope you have a great day!

I Feel Like a Cliche Angsty Teenager.

Pretty much whenever I have my hair blue, I just feel inherently like a cliche angsty. This is helped when I wear The Smiths shirts and striped tights. And black lipstick.
Outfit details:
Shirt: Everything English
Skirt: I'm not sure, but it's technically a dress.
Tights: Foot Traffic
Shoes: (knock off) Doc Martins
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Since When Does Orange + Blue Not Equal Orange?

Well, this was my attempt to dye my hair bright orange. It did not work. However, I did borrow my mom's Who shirt, so that brightened my day! I semi-hated the color it turned, so after school I tried color-corrector, but that also did not work very well, so now my hair is dyed a sort of blue-black. That morning, I took an old pair of black tights and cut lots of hole in them. They turned out awesome.
Outfit Details:
Shirt: The Who (I'm not sure where it's from)
Skirt: American Eagle
Tights: K-mart (self-torn)
Shoes: (knock off) Doc Martins
I hope you have a lovely day!

Big Hair and Big Bows

The night before this was when I had worn my hair in little buns (see previous post), and when I took them out, my hair was kind of fantastic. It stuck almost straight up on top, out at the sides, and almost curled at the ends. I tried to replicate it the next day by leaving my hair in buns overnight, and it was pretty awesome (I teased it out too) but it mostly deflated by the end of the day. I also added a ginormous black bow in the back.
I wore my skeleton hands shirt that I made a while ago (DIY here) with a studded belt, a red skirt, glittery tights, docs, and my jacket.
I hope you have a good day!
Love,
Chloe

Pretty Punk

I have very mixed feelings about this title, but I couldn't think of anything else. On this day, I wore a red floral dress, black tights and docs, and my denim jacket. I think it was the night before that my dad gave me a bunch of his old buttons and pins to add my my jacket. I now have Devo, The Go-Go's, Travelin' Ken, The Smiths, Johnny Rotten, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, Captain Sensible, The Mormons, Frank Sinatra, and a couple of others.
I wore my hair up in about 10 tiny buns, inspired by the punk rock classic of giant spiked hair. Rather than use a ton of gel or hairspray, I just did little buns. It's way easier and gives a little bit of the look without the extreme (which is still awesome).
I hope you have a lovely day!
Love,
Chloe
