Big Hair and Big Bows

The night before this was when I had worn my hair in little buns (see previous post), and when I took them out, my hair was kind of fantastic. It stuck almost straight up on top, out at the sides, and almost curled at the ends. I tried to replicate it the next day by leaving my hair in buns overnight, and it was pretty awesome (I teased it out too) but it mostly deflated by the end of the day. I also added a ginormous black bow in the back.
I wore my skeleton hands shirt that I made a while ago (DIY here) with a studded belt, a red skirt, glittery tights, docs, and my jacket.
I hope you have a good day!

Chloe

Pretty Punk

I have very mixed feelings about this title, but I couldn't think of anything else. On this day, I wore a red floral dress, black tights and docs, and my denim jacket. I think it was the night before that my dad gave me a bunch of his old buttons and pins to add my my jacket. I now have Devo, The Go-Go's, Travelin' Ken, The Smiths, Johnny Rotten, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, Captain Sensible, The Mormons, Frank Sinatra, and a couple of others.
I wore my hair up in about 10 tiny buns, inspired by the punk rock classic of giant spiked hair. Rather than use a ton of gel or hairspray, I just did little buns. It's way easier and gives a little bit of the look without the extreme (which is still awesome).
I hope you have a lovely day!

Chloe

Orthopedic Shoes Are the Best.

Sorry I haven't gotten to post anything for a few weeks, but I've been super busy with the beginning of school and being the head of the costume crew (which is marvelous by the way). This was from the second week of school, right after I bought some new (orthopedic) shoes. Pretty much every pair of shoes I own is in some state of falling apart, with most in the later stages. My mom took me to Payless, and after browsing through a bunch of sneakers and flats, I found these. The box proclaimed that they were orthopedic, and have "no slip grips" on the bottom, pretty much confirming that they were made specifically for Lunch Ladies and the elderly. Of course, that only increased my immediate love for them. At first, my mom was skeptical, but when I put them on, she admitted that they were "weirdly cute. Like, they shouldn't be. But they are." And now I own them, and they are incredibly comfortable.
I also added a Kate Nash style purple streak to my hair.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Doll Parts

Outfit Details- Dress: Urban Outfitters, Stockings: Sock Theory, Shoes: Doc Martins, Belt: Forever 21, Arm Warmers: DIY
On Wednesday night, I was trying to figure out what to wear the next day, and my mom suggested I wear something girly and pink, since I'd worn mostly black all week. Obviously, the first thing that sparked in my mind as she said this, was "Creepy Victorian doll!!!" and so creepy Victorian doll I was. I wore a lacy, pale pink dress that I got at Urban Outfitters a while ago on sale, along with my skeleton stockings and fishnet arm warmers. I did my makeup in a porcelain doll-esque fashion, using extra white powder and painting on eyelashes, along with heavy pink blush and dark red lipstick. I also curled my hair and wore a pink bow in it.
I hope you have a wonderful day!

Polka Dot Black Cat

Outfit Details- Dress: Target, Jacket: Hand-me-down, Shoes: Doc Martins
This is what I wore on Wednesday. My mom was down at Target on Tuesday, and texted me a picture of this dress, and I thought it was kind of amazing, so she got it for me. Luckily, it fits perfectly, and is quite amazing. It's all polka dot mesh, with a swishy skirt and a little collar. I wore it with teal tights that almost match my hair, Doc Martins, and a Blondie jacket. I put my hair up in a bee-hive, and added my cat-ear headband.
I hope you have a spectacular day!

Chloe

Stripes and Hearts

Outfit Details- Blouse and Skirt: Forever 21, Tights: Sockshop Haight, Shoes: Target, Clips: Vons
I wore this on Tuesday. I was very excited about his outfit, because I found striped tights that finally fit okay!!! If you've been reading this blog for a while, you might recall that I've been searching for good striped tights for years. Every pair that I've had has been "One size fits all," but they almost never do. They're always much too short for my 5'9ish frame, and end up sagging down throughout the day, so much that I made my old pair into stocking, although the fabric is so unstretchable that they can't be worn without garters. I just searched for my new wonderful tights online so that I could share a link to them if anyone is looking for some of their own, but I couldn't find them anywhere. If you want to try and find some though, they're "Foot Traffic" brand, and I bought them at the Sockshop on Haight in San Fransisco.
I was also excited because on Monday after school, we went to the grocery store, and I found some child hair accessories that I decided I needed in my life. I got them mostly because the clips each have different colored animals, bows, flowers, etc, and most of the animals just look kind of creepy. For instance, there is a bear that's holding some kind of pitchfork that looks like a murder weapon, especially with the eery deadpan look on his face.
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

First Day of School (Sophomore Edition)

Outfit Details- T-shirt: Everything English, Skirt and fishnets: Forever 21, Boots: (knock off) Doc Martins
This is what I wore on Monday for the first day of school. I think it's kind of cool to be able to look back through this blog and see what I was wearing for the first day of school last year. That was also right after I cut my hair, and it's weird to see it so short, although it hasn't really grown all that much in the past year, due to so much bleaching that it's semi-ruined.
I've also gotten a much better camera since then, so my pictures are all a lot nicer. I can still picture exactly what I wore on the first day's of seventh and eighth grade, and it's cool to see how much my style and everything has changed since then. In seventh grade, I wore jeans and a pink floral blouse, with super long straight blond hair, then it eighth grade I wore a black and white striped dress (which I still wear sometimes), turquoise leggings, and bright crimson hair.
(My red hair)
Does anyone else ever start looking at older pictures of themselves and sort of compare them to them now? I always just think it's interesting to see the differences and everything.
Anyway, I hope you have a lovely day!
Love,
Chloe
